Paying It Forward at Kempton of Rock Hill

What began as one social media influencer’s heartfelt request to bring joy to seniors resulted in unexpected generosity and shared humanity. After a viral post by area resident Dugan Meredith, thousands of holiday gifts poured in for the residents at Kempton of Rock Hill.

They were surprised and delighted by the overwhelming kindness. Packages arrived from across the country and even overseas, many with handwritten notes. The joy was immediate, but so was the residents’ response. They quickly saw an opportunity to pass that kindness forward.

Residents and team members shared many of the gifts with neighboring senior living
communities and local nonprofits. Residents and staff also assembled goodie bags.

With a long-standing culture of service, Kempton residents turned generosity received into
generosity shared, creating a powerful reminder that compassion knows no age.
